Hello everyone,
Am new to this website and am glad that am here ,
I just bought recently a 240sx and the car seems like had a 5 speed swap before and I have problem, the car keeps drain the battery and the battery brand new just bought it 5 days ago cause I thought the battery is the problem but I was checking all the fuses today with multimeter and I found so far 2 short circuit,
1- the shift lock stay on when the ignition and the car off
2- car interior light stays on ,on the multimeter even if the switch off and the car turned off and read 12.13 DC so I think that's enough to drain the battery!!!!

And by the way the interior light operate just fine I mean it does turn on and off but when you put the multimeter on the fuse and you turn it off you well read 12.3v which is mean drain the battery!!!! Please help and I'll appreciate it

I got rid of your duplicate thread in another forum. Please only post 1 thread per topic.

So you're saying the car has been swapped to a 5 speed, yet it still has a shift lock? Can you just pull the fuse for that shift lock, or unplug the shift locker if its still present?

The proper way to chase battery drain is to put your multi-meter in-line with the positive battery terminal. Basically using the meter to complete the circuit. Monitor amperage pull (NOT voltage). It should be under ~.06A or so with the doors closed. Pull fuses until you find which circuit is causing the drain, then chase it from there.
