Just picked up a 1991 240sx, Automatic, 110k miles....Car was well taken care of until the last few years it wasn’t driven much at all...Currently I was told the car puffs white smoke when it gets warm. When I checked it out, the smoke is more a bluish-gray and it completely smells like burning oil...It really puffs when I rev'd the motor...After it was warm I completed a compression test per FSM and all 4 were 179-180...The care really pulls and shifts nice...after I warmed it up and let it smoke a little the temperature gauge didn't get hot either. I thought it was a head gasket based on what the previous owner said, but now I am thinking it is a valve seal. Can I change the valve seals or any other possible seals that might cause smoking in the top end with out pulling the head completely off?? I just wanted to see if I could get some input from more experienced 240 owners!!! Thanks again for all the great info on here. I have used this site for a ton of research so far!!!!
