First. I would like to say I am sooo glad I came across this site. Very helpful members are here and I learned and fixed so much basic problems that was on my '95 J30(ie. headlight relay, replacing ampified speakers on bose radios system). Now the problems I'm working on now are some the same things everyone else are working on or just completed.

1. Struts and shocks and shocks replacement
2. Can't get the Key FOB to work with the Keyless entry system
3. Engine when idle rev up and down by itself.

Also There are issue that I have and haven't seen here yet.
1. My J30 sometimes won't start on park I'll have to shift it to neutral before it would start
2. My rear defrost was working suddenly it just stopped

I had to buy my '95 J30 because of monetary reason so I can't take it to a mechanic, gotta do most of the fixng myself and hopeful with you guys help as well. if I can I will share some of the fixes on my car like the sunroof. I love the car to death over 200,000 mi and the engine is solid and powerful. Thanks for this forum and I hope to be a value member.

Welcome to NICO

It's funny how many people see a J30 and don't remember it. Done right they can be quite fun.

For the transmission when was the last time it was serviced? For defrost I would make sure it has power....

Thanks for the quick reply....

Since I had the car the trans haven't been serviced. I added a conditioner to it, the shifting is great. It just ever once in
a while when I try to start in park, it'll click power (batt) will cut off till I come of the starting than the battery power comes right back on than I have to move it to neutral then it will start normal. Now that I think about it could it be my starter going to crap???

Starter, switch, etc. Could be a number of things. Start with the starter and move on from there.

rear defrost issue-you probably have a break in the wire in the window. The tedious part is finding the break, the easy part is repairing it. Most auto stores sell a kit.

I will check for that but for now I believe its the relay but I'm not paying $15 for a new one. I guess I'll be going to U pull it and get one from each j they have there. And if any of them are good and the rear defrost sit don't work. Then I will get the repair kit and check for a break in the back window.
Thanks for the response.

:dblthumb: :dblthumb: Finally I programmed my remote to my car.
Hello. J30 folks. I just programmed my remote to my car and all those instructions you get from the internet didn't work at all for me. Maybe for some. It happened so quick I don't know exactly how it worked for me but I'll tell you what all I did first sat in the car, locked all the doors with drivers side door lock, then kept pressing the door lock (you should hear a clicking noise) then while you pressing the lock turn the ignition Untill all the hazard lights blink twice after that turn the key to ACC press the door lock button on the remote the doors should lock or you should hear the doors attempt to lock and that should be it the remote should work. It did for my car. :woot:
