Is that a door panel? Looks like its not, and its for beside the seat...which would mean its from a 95-96 which had body mounted seat belts rather than door mounted. If that's the case, you may have the wrong panels... My 91 doesn't have any "panels" around that look like that that I'm aware of.

No those are the side panels for a 2+2 - I figured it out. The rear seat (back and top), rear trunk, door trim, and speakers need to be removed. Theres an end cap (round plastic) on the top with a retaining screw as well as a bracket (screw) on the lower edge of the panel that need to come out. It sides forward d/t the rear seat belt bracket that holds the rear of the panel in place. What a pain... Has anyone redone the vinyl on panels ?

Cool man, thanks for posting your solution. Lots of people never do. I think there are vinyl restoration services out there that I've seen recommended before. I haven't researched or used them.

Well the piece easily separates by some metal bend taps and plastic push pins - so I removed it and will go to the local fabric store to get a leather vinyl to restore it. Thats an easy part - I just kept the old piece and cut it to form - over spray with 3m super adhesive and apply...will look like new...
