I just picked up a 94q pearl white 116k base with trac and heated seats body is mint also interior. Car was in fail safe mode 3rd gear start on board test showed code 4 (shift solenoid B). Took it to aamco told them the problem. They said A&B soleniod were bad would 450 to do, told also to do flush. Trans now works, but will change fuel pump (noise) car shuts down sometimes when reving. Love the Qs I had a 92 before but always wanted a 94 -96 (grill etc.) WIll also try to clean throttle valve and iac valve did change fuel filter already.

Wow, welcome to NICO!

Once a G50 owner, one always aspires to another, no?

Presume AAMCO didn't use OEM part? Did they perform the mechanical ATF exchange? Auxiliary ATF cooler installed?

Nice stable. You will have to post up a cross commentary on all of them.

The question you must research is what caused the essentially bullet proof solenoid to fail or get so gummed up it no longer had the force to move.

Failure to clean all the gum and clutch dirt fully will just leave the next component ready to stick.

Q45tech's sapient comment stems directly from his previous posts about the benefits of chemical flushing agents such as BG Quick Clean for transmissions employed simultaneously with mechanical fluid exchanges.

You must verify he changed to the OEM specidfied NGK PFRG5 plugs.

Anything else is a risk for your engine.
