Hello,I just purchased my new to me 06 M45 Sport last night and nothing but ear to ear! I'll do my best to search and not be the stereotypical noob but I do have a descent set of questions...

First off is Big Brake Kits...? The last two cars I have owned were the VW R32 and G35S both of which had huge brakes. The first disappointment with the M is the brakes. I don't know if the rotors were warped before I got the car or what but they were not confidence inspiring to say the least and are now warped. I am not the easiest on brakes and will be looking to upgrade soon. I have always been a fan of StopTech but they don't seem to have a kit for the M. I wonder how much different the M is from the new G. I know with the new G35 the 14"ers from the G37 bolt right up. This is something I will look into...

Next is lowering... What is the consensus on the different drops...? Do people generally just go with springs or do people go ahead and go with coilovers. What is the average lifespan of the oem shocks? Should I be considering getting new shocks anyway? My car currently has 40k on the clock and if I can kill two birds with one stone I might go ahead with the coilovers.

Ok, enough being a noob... here are the pics!

Welcome to NICO!!

Before you change the brakes out, get your tires balanced well. If they are old, replace them. You may be surprised by the "rotor warping" effects going away.

Of course, this does depend on how many miles the car has seen ... you should be able to get 60k miles out of a set of rotors (two pad changes worth), although it may need turning at the first pad change.

Well I did a quick search and found these for you. If money isnt an issue then go ahead with the coilovers, that way you can adjust exactly to where you want. OEM struts/shocks are designed so that the inner pistons are within a certain range. They keep into consideration the wearing/sagging of OEM springs but anything over 1" of a drop is probably going to not help the life of the struts. Here see if this helps:http://www.stillen.com/product...initi

Cheers

Thanks Z,The car is about to hit 40k and it looks like some new pads are in order... or will be soon. The car is in great shape and appears to be from fl (from previous destinations in nav). I did find one bend in one of the wheels but it is the passenger rear. Luckily for me I got the road hazard protection... It just paid for itself right there. I don't know how much the 19s are from the factory but the 18s on the G were $700+ a wheel. I'll have the dealership look at it when I get them to look at the wheel.

Just purchased Stop Tech drilled/slotted rotors, amazing ($107/each). Then I found rims and tires the same as yours and slapped them on my f50.

Awesome! We should get something together, I headed up the NC chapter of a 4Runner Club for a few years so I would have no problem getting something together if there was enough interest. I know a few G35 guys that would be down too. I'm also often in Atlanta so we could do something up there as well. Let me know when your in town next... My buddies and I go on photo shoots when we have spare time on our hands...

Welcome,That is truly a beautiful car. I love the wheels on the M35/45 Sports. They are made by Enkei I believe and look identical to the wheels on the 2006 Q45 sport. I still want to put those wheels on my 04.I love Savannah and used to live in Charleston, S.C for five years. Welcome again and I know you are going to love your car.M.L
