Hello peoples!:wavey I'm new here. I really like the 1998 240sx. I am planning on purchasing one, but I don't know what the best model would be. Would you guys help me on my purchase of a 240sx? I had a 2000 Celica GT-S 6sp, had it for about three years and just a month ago, totalled it.:( I loved that car, but I want to experience a rear wheel import now that I have to start from scratch. I drove US rear wheels and stuff, but I am not too fond of purchasing a US car. I want to do the JDM s15 conversion (is there a difference between the two?). If there is an s15 conversion, does the conversion come with metal fenders? How much would the price set me back? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Tommy

There really isnt any top model when it comes to the 1998 240SX(SE i suppose is the top). The S15 conversion to the headlights includes: headlights, core support, fenders (some metal some FB) hood, bumper and sometimes HID. Look for the rough general price to be about $3000-$3500 for the body and headlight pieces, $500 for HID and probably little less than $1000 for paint.

*Do note that an aftermarket JDM bumper kit, CF hood or sidemarkers will make the general prices increase.

This has been the topic of many discussions on this board so next time search.

Heres some places to get conversions http://www.autoimaging.com/sho...137cf or http://www.afterdark-tuning.co....html

Thanks, and sorry for the question that has been asked many times. I did a search, but evertime I type in "s15" I get an error that says that the word is too short.

yeah i checked it out. The conversion is hella cheap on his website. Thanks for the link. Is there a website where there is the metal fenders? Every site that I have been to, they only have the fiberglass ones. Do you guys have problems with the fiberglass breaking or something? I have never owned a fg bumper.

trust me the fiberglass should be ok plus it is going to lighten the car up a little which well help out for quarter mile times. Daunttless is your best bet for anything you need

When i'm ready, I'll definitely go to him. Is the conversion fairly easy to install? Do you need to weld anything like the JDM type R?

Nothing needs to be welded on the Type-R, its bolt on, like the conversion.
