hi everyone! i just wanted advice on some parts before i purchase them. i tried to research by topic but couldn't really find anything.

i drive a 95 nissan 200sx se-r with a u13 bluebird swap and a fmax stage 2 turbo kit. right now i'm at 187 whp and looking to turn up the boost (the boost came at 4psi, dont ask me why )

my goals are a daily driven 300whp low boost and around 400whp high boost.

the advice i'm looking for is which clutch should i go with? i've looked into act, clutch masters, and spec, and i can't decide which will be stable/lasting with that much power.

another thing is that i'm leaking oil around the valve cover. i'm thinking i need to replace the head gasket. i've never heard of the company cometic, but they have head gaskets for my car. it is 1.2mm. is this a good company? will 1.2mm hold the power i'm looking for?

any other information will greatly be appreciated.

thanks in advance...

p.s. sorry if i'm posting in the wrong forum. i drive a sentra so...

A FWD car with 300hp is going to be very difficult to drive. 400hp is borderline impossible.

Anyway, what turbo are you running? The stock T25 on the Bluebird won't get you to 300hp.

As for clutch, any of those brands will do. If you're really going to be putting down 300-400, get a puck-style ceramic clutch. If you decide to keep it under 300, a segmented Kevlar disc (I know Spec and Unorthodox have them, not sure about Clutch Masters and ACT, but I bet they do) will hold up.

Welcome to NICO! Where in Atlanta are you?

hello! thank you for your response! i just don't know which clutch company and which clutch kit to go with. i might go with the act stage 4 clutch. i have a turbonetics t3/t4 turbo. i don't know the trim of it, though.

thank you for the welcome! i found out about this site after calling clutch masters. one of the reps told me about this site.

i stay out in duluth. how about you?

Midtown, I'm a Tech student.

Good to hear that NICO's getting referrals like that.

A T3/4 can put you at 300hp, but I doubt much beyond that.

Do you mean the 4-puck with the "Xtreme" pressure plate? IMO, that'd be overkill and really harsh to drive. I'd go either 6-puck heavy duty or street-disc with the "Xtreme." The latter will be more legwork, but smoother, and the former will be easier on the leg, but a little rougher when engaging. Both can take over 300 ft/lbs, and that'll hold all the boost you can put out of a T3/4.

Clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub with Heavy Duty P/P is what I run. Holding power is suppose to be 325ft/lbs. I haven't had any problems yet and I am putting down 280whp/tq on high boost. If you need more power than that, I p/p with more clamping force would be necessary.

Oil around the valve cover wouldn't be a head gasket issue but a valve cover gasket issue and relatively easy to change.

thanks again for the advice. i guess i'll look into the both clutch companies and look into the valve gasket cover.

is there anything else i should look into before turning up the boost?

tech student? i graduated from georgia state

thanks again!

If you, for some odd reason, don't have a high-flow fuel pump and FPR, get one, but I'd be surprised if your deal with Fmax hadn't included and/or required having that done.

I have some friends at State. It's a small world I suppose.

the kit came with a high-flow fuel pump, but not the FPR (i'm assuming FPR is fuel pressure riser).

i'm looking to get an inifiniti q45 throttle body, too.

i've read somewhere that the internals should be able to hold up to 400hp, so i think i'll hold off before i start that project.

i also heard that the axles were able to hold up to 400 hp before the need to reinforce the axles... is this true?

thanks!

Fuel pressure regulator, yeah. You'll want to get one before you up the boost.

Not sure about the axles, but I wouldn't be surprised. Again, I don't think you're going to get anywhere near 400hp with that turbo anyway, and, even if you did, driving the car is going to be more about wrestling it than enjoying it.
