starts and idles but when i give it throttle she dies out. computer says it's the air flow meter code 12. but i've checked everything.. i got a new meter and it does teh same thing.. as soon as vacuum pressure gets below 10 towards zero she bogs. i have a new wiring harness that i did a full continuity test on and i'm starting to lose faith in this... i have a spare ecu as well that i have tried yet the car does the same thing. i have no vacuum leaks and it runs in limp mode for a while then fouls out the plugs.. anyone know what's up???

thankx for the help!!

Try resetting the ECU. A local guy had a bad MAF so he replaced it and the ECU was still throwing the MAF code. He replaced many parts when it was just a simple ECU reset. It's free.

i'll try thankx...i also think one of the block off's i made on the intake might be leaking so that might explain the bogging below 10lbs of vac..??

hey guys still not running. no vac leaks and still stumped. any suggestions ..

i reset the ecu adn the maf signal is gone but the car still runs pig rich. and i'll drive it for a few seconds under 10psi of vac and after a few rev it gets worse. and worse and then it stops..

Go to the Nissan Online Mechanic. Those guys are great. We've been through most every other seemingly logical attempt to fix it. Try 'em out!

I knew a guy who did a swap once and he didn't pay any attention to the fact that he had an Auto trans ecu wired into a 5 spd ecu. It caused him to run like crap and run extremely rich. Figured I'd give my two cents

Have you checked to make sure you installed the cams correctly? Checked ignition timing and all that blah?

check the connection for the coolant temp sensor and maybe try swapping another sensor in if that doesnt solve it. If that doesnt work then check the connection to the cold warm up solenoid. A faulty o2 could do something like this to, so swap it if its handy.

i love that itb single cam you got in your sig..

i changed teh coolant temp and tried everythgin i could but no success...

i tightened my tps and it seemed to work for a bit. also. i kept the vac line under the throttle body open. the car seemed to respond so i took it for a spin. she idled so i decided to get on it in 2nd.

she scarred me. had torque liek a monstor, and definatly faster thatn your average 240. stock of course.. lol.. today i tried to take her out agian. but she decided she wanted to be a *****.. so i got the same bogging issue agian. i'm planning on going to teh yard and grabbing a throttle body with tps off of another twin cam. maybe this will help../???

update!! i removed the harness agian an dredid the connectiosn tha ti needed to . i also cleaned up teh ground by soldering the wires and adding heat shrink. i found the vac leak being the intake runner #1. it has a nipple on the bottom for the pcv valve so i plugged up this leak.

i also did an autometer tach install on the car. as far as the signal wire i had some issues.. do not connect it to the YELLOW/RED stripe. it does not work. GREEN/BLK stripe is what you want. this will be found under the hood on the coil. located on the two wire harness find the green/blk and splice into that wire.. your set..
