Helical LSD question

Does anybody know of information on HOW a helical limited slip works? Not just what it does, but HOW it does it mechaniclly. Are there any diagrams out there that are actually good? I've checked out the qualife site and that diagram sucked.

Does the HSLD work like an open diff in the rain? How much traction does it need to do the whole tork biasing thing? Basiclly what i'm asking is if I buy a HLSD and install it, will both my tires spin at full throttle on a slippery wet road? or will it act like an open diff cuz there's not enough traction to tork bias?

Plz help me out if you understand how HLSD woks.(and, yes i've searched like a crazy for this info and it doesn't seem to exist on the net)
