This is something I woudl also liek to know.... unfortunately all the places I have found info on all ended in either questions or someone NOT finishing the project.

I have searched and searched and find lots of stuff, just nothign with actualy detail on what is needed.

However I am sure that since the s15 is a 6-speed you will definetly need your stock ring gear (maybe opt for a J30 if you are turbo) to make it work. Other than that I am really not sure abtou shims, output shafts or any part of what it will take to get that diff in your pumkin. Good luck, and if you find ANY info or decide to do it yruself and figure it out PLEASE PLEASE make the info somehow available to the everyone else.

Hmm, you should have done more research before you bought it. The one you bought doesn't come with the output shafts, and from what I understand, very few people in the US can get them. You cannot use VLSD output shafts, or open diff output shafts. This has been verified by myself, and a few other guys on zilvia.net. What is involved is basically removing the rear diff, opening it, removing the open diff, and replacing it with the HLSD. The only things I used were the HLSD, output shafts, gear lube, and I got some new side seals from the dealer. Install took about 6 hours.

Here's the write-up I did on Zilvia.net:1. Jack up car and support it with four jack stands.2. Remove exhaust, and if you have a rear sway bar (S14 SE), remove it as well, you don't need to, but it makes it easier. Before removing exhaust, go ahead and soak the subframe and axle bolts with WD40 and PB Blaster. 3. After the exhaust and swaybar are off, go to work with the breaker bar. Here's the order in which I removed the bolts: axle bolts (12)rear crossmember bolts (2)driveshaft bolts (4)front diff support bolts (2)There's also a breather hose on top of the diff, make sure to disconnect it.4.)After bolts are removed, remove diff, it may take some work to get it out, but it'll fall. I supported it with a jack and just worked with it until it was loose, then just lowered the jack. 5.) make sure the diff is level and drain the oil. 6.) while it's draining, loosen the cover bolts.7.) after the diff is empty, replace the drain plug so you don't misplace it and remove the cover..8.) Pull out the output shafts and remove the side supports (4 bolts) and now you will be looking at the open diff guts, it needs to be pryed out. I used to two pieces of pipe and it popped right out. Before you take it out, remember which side the spacers and bearing covers go on, I used the stock spacers as opposed to the S15 spacers I received with my diff and had no spacing problems.9.) once you get the diff out, put it in a vise and remove the ring gear bolts, these are a pain in the *** and loctite is applied at the factory so I had to use a cheater pipe. But then again, I'm prety weak so yeah. 10.) Repeat step 9 if the S15 HLSD has a ring gear. if not, then you're a lucky bastard.11.) put the S15 diff in the vise along with the ring gear you removed from the open diff and bolt it back up using the bolts you removed from the open diff. I used loctite and torqued the bolts to 140ft-lbs12.) now it's time to transplant that ****13.) Put the bearing covers on, drop the new diff in, making sure it makes contact with the pinion and put the spacers back on their respective sides and bolt the side supports back up. 14.) Put the S15 output shafts in and be careful not to ruin the side seals. It's actually a good idea to replace these. When the pumpin is empty, pound out the old seals and pound the new ones in, making sure they are in straight. 15.) Clean off the diff/cover mating surface with some carb cleaner and apply RTV afterwards. Bolt the diff cover back on and fill it with gear lube. HLSD's don't need any additive so I just used synthetic blend Valvoline 80W-90.16.) After making sure there are no leaks and that the diff works when the companion flange is turned, it's time to bolt that **** up to the car. 17.) Put the diff back on the jack and go to work putting it back onto the car. It's probably a good idea to get the two crossmember bolts back on first, and then reconnect the axles to the output shafts second. Then put the rest of the bolts on and torque them to spec.18.) put the exhaust back on and put the swaybar back on. Or if you want to be a ricer, you can drive around with no exhaust for a while. Drop the car, take it for a test drive and enjoy the lack of inside wheel spin.

I've had the diff in for around 4000 miles now and it's going strong.

Hey, ZadokIs this Andy Keil guy living in Japan working as an importer, or does he have another job, and doesn't mind helping you out?I'm just wondering whether or not one is able to support one's self doing just that full-time. Not trying to be nosy. It's just that I'm almost out of school, and toying w/ the idea of going back to Japan for at least a little while.

lots of people know Jap-Andy from his ebay sales...He has always provided honest good prducts IMO and a **** load of them at that. I would guess that if he is still doing this and it is not his main income source then he makes a LOT of $$$

I found a complete HLSD pumpkin from an S15 on ebay the other day. Can you just directly swap out the non-LSD S14 pumpkin for this one?

I have an s15 core and output shafts. and my s14 diff in my room right now and I cannot get the output shafts out. How did you manage to get the output shafts out. All you are saying is pull the output shafts out but I have used all my strength and they dont move one bit.

To remove my open diff shafts, I just used a rubber mallet and they slid out. You have to use some method of force, since there are clips holding them into the diff.

I found a pry bar and got them out. I really dont have the tools I need here at school so I am going to get a friend of mine to help me with it. The real challange is going to be the ring gear.

You mean removing the bolts on the ring gear? Just put the diff in a vice and get a big cheater pipe. Also, when you reinstall the bolts for the new ring gear, use some loctite.

thelinja...so you are saying the open diff pumpkin works w/the hlsd? (this is good news 'cuz everyone kept saying you need the vlsd pumpkin due to size) And how 'bout the output shafts, how many bolts are needed? Did they just bolt up to the s14 no problems?

I got the S13 VLSD from Japandy, and you do not need to have the case for the swap, but then again I still haven't driven it, so I guess we will see, kept the old one just in case.
