Finished my RHD conversion the other day. People said it was gonna cost me an arm and leg. Total cost was $ 134.54 thats including little things like tape, nuts, engine lift, alignment. The clip was 50. People also said it would take forever. Total time from bringing it home to completion: 9 days. HA! Ill post some pics in a bit:ylsuper

you can import one! and get away with it! you just need to do what my friend did. you get a wrecked car identical to the non-legal one that still has a clean title, then you switch over the vin numbers and register the jap car as the wrecked one! i promise you it works. dont ask me about the legality though..

for the record, my car doesnt have the correct vin numbers on it and state farm doesnt give a rat's a$s (changed the dash and stuff, the correct ones are kept in the glove box).

How do you guys put pictures on here that are bigger than 300x300? That seems to small to me, plus Ive seen other people do much bigger pics.

i would never understand you yanks, why would you want to drive on the opposite side of the road that your country roads were designed for?? driving LHD cars down here SUX - you constantly rub curbs, overtaking is a ***** etc.

if its a drag car then thats cool, cause you can now explore manifolds etc..

but i guess for the novelty and the experience may be worht it,. but i cant understand it.

[IMG] [/IMG] Front clip arrives by way of me and my big *** truck.

For those of you looking to do this. You need about everything that come with the clip except the clip itself. You only need the fire wall (and only parts of that) You need the heater core and fan and stuff like that because the US doesn't line up (its backwards) Things you don't really think about are things like the center console cover (the thing you take off to get to your stereo screws) Speaking of which I need a JDM one if anyone has one laying around:pface

Thats the JDM dash. Any one know anything about URAS? Cause Im about the sell that sticker on ebay. Its straight JDM YO! It's an automatic 5-10 hp boost depending on if you put it where others can see it!;)

this is my engine coming out. Looks like my car is throwing up all its wires and crap. Actually the removal and putting the engine back in was the easiest part. As long as you label all the wires going to the engine its almost too easy. its like if someone wanted to steal your engine itd only take like an hour.

these are the 2 pieces I cut out of the rhd fire wall. Along with the steering bracket those are the only pieces of metal you need from the clip. Do mother Nature a favor and take the rest to a recyling place. I took mine and they gave me $30 for it. Since the clip only cost me $50 I think that was a good deal:D

oh, and did you by any chance spray paint your car? it looks wonderfully cheap (like mine! its spray painted black too).

Its amazing how crappy your car looks when its in pieces but when you put it all together....For those following at home, make sure you put LOTS of silcon on to cover your welds. Don't want fumes coming in, choking your passengers.

Indeed I did go with the spray. I did a damn good job too:) now Im about to get the clear coat to make it all shiny.

oh and yes, use a sawsall. Its the best cutting tool ever....seriously. It cuts through ANY thing like its butter. I cut my clip in half in like 2 mins

yeah, i would die without ours, i just cut the manifold off the ka24e, then yanked the engine out. also makes for very easy exhaust removal. used it to cut my clip up and take it to the recycling place too, basically dropped it right through the frame and steering rack. ate up the firewall and asked for more as well.

i didnt go as far as to use clear coat with mine, just kinda gave it a few coats and hoped for the best. i wouldnt have been able to tell it was spray paint if it wasnt for the cracked bumper cover right under the headlight, mine has the same thing in the exact same place.

f da fumes, there was scorching hot air in my engine bay that loved to come in thru little holes in the firewall. definitely want to work to seal the firewall good and tight all around.
