Yeah, I knew what you were getting at. You just want two subs without sounding like your a bass head

As for one sub not being able to acheive what you're looking for, that all depends on what you're looking for. A properly chosen 18in driver can take you into the 145+dB range if that's what you're looking for. OR, if you're just looking for a little low end "oomph" a single 12in is cabable of descent mid 20Hz range at 100dB +. With ~115~120dB around 50hz
