Of course it would be open. Switch broke right off when I went to close it!. I've been playing with it for an hour, danged if I can figure out how to put the switch back or use anything to move the switch or make the connection. I seem to remember there is an emergency way to close it but my operators manual has suddenly gone missing, I've looked in the service manual but nothing. Anybody got any ideas? Could I plead with someone to look in the operators manual and see if there are any emergency closing instructions. Thanks in advance. 92Q Federal model, traction, 145,000mi

You should be able to pop open the trim piece holding the switch and jump the wires to close it. If you can't get that to happen, take off the trim piece over the motor drive and use the manual crank in the tool kit to close it.

Trim over the motor drive is where? Same as trim around switch? I don't have a Q tool kit. What kind of tool would work and is it obvious where to use the tool? Thanks very much for the reply. Any knowledge of which wires to jump? The service manual has been no help in that regard.

The motor drive is located behind the same trim as the switch.(where the spotlights are) The tool kit should be by your spare tire. If it's gone, the tool looks to be a 5mm allen wrench shaped like a crank. You turn it clockwise to close the sunroof.

Now I know what the heck that thing in my kit is for. I learn something every day.

Thank you 911, I was able to figure it out after your first post. NOW it's closed, actually I've closed it FIVE FREAKING times now and everytime I start the car the FREAKING thing OPENS again!!! Anyone have any ideas about that?? When the switch broke off the sunroof was in full open position and I had just triggered a full close when it snapped off. By the way, this board does rock, who else has a posse (Hitmans phrase) that can get a response on a Sunday night at 7pm? Oh, I did not break into any wires to splice, just my handy allen wrench to close it.......FIVE TIMES.

Crazy idea, close it with the wrench and then pull the fuse, before starting the car??

That's good, if it's a discreet circuit, otherwise pull the plug from the broken switch. By the way, I think the replacement switch is pretty cheap.
