Well let me get my first post out of the way. Let me share an E-Mail I recived today From Heavy Throttle.

hey man hows it going.its great to see someone who does there research before jumping into a project, such as this one. My name is Doug, I am Heavy Throttles new JDM certified mechanic, my main job is to throughly inspect each motor that comes through our shop. i compression test every single one of them, complete check on the motors condition, and a motor will not leave our shop unless i have completely inspected it and approved it. I also answer phone calls from around the country in regards to technical questions about the SR motor. What makes our company different from every other company who deals with the SR motors, is that we are 100% devoted to the SR motors, and the SR motors only. Jeff and Yury first started this company a few years ago, and have gained a good reputation for quality customer service and customer satisfaction with our motors and other products. I, myself just recently moved to the U.S from Japan, where i lived for four years. During my time there, i competed in many drift competitions, as well as Gymkhana, received a japanese certification in automotive engineering. Each person who works at Heavy Throttle has years of experience with japanese motors, and because of our knowledge of the SR20 motor, is what earned us the reputation that we have today. all of our motors come with a 30 day warantee, garantee start up and run, and unlimited tech suport. and unlike every other company out there, we warantee EVERY part of that motor! if your coil pack is bad, then we will replace it for you, exc. if the motor has a spung bearing, then we will replace the motor for you. The reasion why our motors cost so much, is because be buy them from highly qualified importers, who run off the exact same demands as we do. Our imports pick the cleanest, best conditioned motors they can find, and fully inspect them, as well as compression test them. Then when we receive the motors, we inspect them all over again to be certain of the motors condition. We get hundreds of phone calls every day, from people who purchased motors from other companies, and never received the ignitor chip, MAFs, main engine harness, ECU, or even the coil packs. Companies who sell there motors for a cheap price, do so because there motors are NOT complete, and 90% if the time, the Main engine harness is cut right at the firewall, which means, its no longer any good. And one of these harnesses cost $450. We sell our motors with a Complete, uncut harness, and the MAFs, ignitor chip, lower engine harness, everything that you need for the swap. Before you make any decisions, please take the time to PERSONALY talk to the owners or someone at the company, and ask them if they offer warantees, and if so what kind and for how long, and what exactly does it cover. Also find out exactly everything they offer with there motors. Try to visit some online forums, such as http://www.240sx.org or http://www.nicoclub.com . these are forums for many other 240SX owners who have done SR swaps before, or are in the process of a swap. Ask around for some opinions about the companies that supply these motors. I hope to have been very informal and helpfull, and please feel free to ask us any questions at any time. If your planning to purchase a motor, I would definately go through these guys. I'm blown away!

I"ve ordered a handful of stuff from them. You get what you pay for. They aren't the cheapest... but they are certainly on the top of my list for parts.... and eventually an engine.

AWESOME!

I have a feeling when Project DropTop gets underway, they will be supplying the engine.
