I have a Infinti G35 05 Sedan and recently it started to overheat. I have a bad history of mechanics ripping me off on other cars and I'm afraid they will do the same to this car. I took the time to learn about cars and how their cooling systems work.
The coolant fluid is clean green, but I do not know how to check other parts such as the thermostat, water pump. I read up on another forum that the Infinti from 04-06 had fan issues as well.
I was in my car with a running engine waiting for the school to release my sister to pick her up, but all of a sudden I noticed the stick rising to H. I was stuck bummer to bummer so all I did was shut off my car till I could move.
Recently I took it for a spin after not bothering with it for a while and after about 15 min, it started to heat up.

Your bad history is most likely the result of using poorly trained and unqualified people who masquerade as mechanics.
MINO's
Mechanics In Name Only!
When you buy cheap you usually end up buying twice.
One needs some specialized test equipment to properly diagnose the cooling system as outlined in the FSM
You've got a ten year old vehicle that I'm sure is paid for so all the money you've been saving by not having car payments can now be used for a proper diagnosis by a fully trained Infiniti technician at your local Infiniti dealer.
Just my $.02
Good luck
