I've got an 82 Stanza and...

my heater sucks. Really bad. I turn it on after the car is fully heated up and it barely feels warm.

I have one hunch as to what might be causing it: If I let the car sit at idle for a few seconds and then hit the gas, the sound of gurgling water eminates from under my dash, obviously something going on in the heater core or in one of the delivery hoses...

Does anybody know where to look first, or what commonly causes this?

does the car get to normal operating temperature..... is the coolant full???

yes and yes.

in fact, the temp. gauge often climbs a bit over halfway, so I am assuming it runs slightly hotter than normal, unless '82 stanzas run normally with the temp. gauge reading a little over halfway.
