Heater only works driving on HWY

i have a 94 infiniti j30 that has been having heater blower problems..it seems it only works driving on Highways..and doesnt on local streets...does anyone have any ideas??

What you mean it only works on the freeway? Can you hear the motor working ? Does your ac work?

I mean local roads no a/c or heater blowing...but when I get going hwy speeds...it works...trust me I'm confused just like you

Do you hear any clicking? If so, your actuator blend door is broken. It's a pain-in-the-a$$ to fix.

Yes, it will affect both AC and heat. It basically involves dis-assembly of the dash and the moving around of things against the firewall to fix. Its one of these repairs that is heavy on labour. The part is relatively inexpensive and breaks due to age.
