i bought an 04 g35 sedan a few months ago and only recently started using the heat. for some crazy reason the car's heater only works while i'm driving, if i stop at a light or whatever it goes cold. anyone got any ideas or have had a similar issue?

that only happens with air bubble in the system

burp it. when you stop driving the car and its hot there is a bleeder valve on the passenger side at the back of the engine by the battery cover. Phillips head #4 I believe.

Open it slowly. You'll hear the hissing of air leak out. When the air stops coming and its just coolant close it quickly.

Dont open it fast or completely remove it. The coolant is hot and can burn you if you do.

Had to do the same thing to mine last night. Turns out that my coolant was a little low so I had to add coolant and then bleed the air from the coolant bleeder valve that you mentioned. Great post Thanks!

Hope you got the heat issue fixed. This engine can be a pain in the butt to bleed out coolant, but if you keep the overflow reservoir to the max line and do what I suggested you'll get it all.
