heater issues

1995 pathfinder SE manual heat\ac controls

once my path warms up, no matter what position i put the temp slider in, all i get is heat. yes the cable is adjusted and i can hear the door close when i slide it to cold. even with the AC on its still hot! when i got this rig the AC blew ice cold and when it was on cold it stayed cold. any ideas??? does anyone have a diagram of the heater box or controls that they can scan?

i am really getting annoyed with this. my chiltons (i hate them, prefer FSM) shows a rod for the water control valve but i dont see where it would be on teh heater box. any ideas?
