But before I start having the entire dash ripped apart, I want to have more of a scope of what exactly I'm looking for. Sounds as if this is fairly common on the G50's, which is what I have ['93]. What is the common cause of the door not opening/closing like it should. Is it more an electrical issue than it is mechanical or vice-versa or combined? What is the best way to access the mechanism [frt or side] are there usually parts that need to be replaced or is it commonly more remedial to re-glue something (maybe replace the sunload sensor?). {Heater core is fine, already checked the basics and don't have access to a tech manual for the car}. I have already air-hosed the twin sensors on either side of the steering column - no success there. Really prefer some success stories and some 'been-there-done-that' expertise - very much appreciated - thx!

Cabin sensor is on the passenger side of the steering column.

1993 don't have the plastic part that fails in the mixer door, from what I understand.

Carefully analyze your symptoms, then post them using very exact descriptive statements in the Infiniti Mechanic Forum for expert help.

"don't have access to a tech manual for the car"

Other than EBAY? Or Paying the local dealer to let you read the manual or borrow/rent one from a technican.

I would seriously think twice and think again before removing the entire dash to get at heat mixer door without a manual and 5 years experience! It is not something I would do. I would pay the 10-12 hours labor if it happened to me.Why not pay the dealer for a diagnosis then decide what to do?
