I have a '94 vert SE. I have a heater problem. My heater is not blowing very hot at all when the engine is hot and running. I know the heater core is good and the coolant was just changed today.

Do you think I may have a heater valve not working properly? If so, where the heack is the heater valve? And, is it repairable or do I have to replace it?

I could really use some suggestions, thanksSpeed Monster

It could also be your water pump.

The heater works by circulating the hot coolant from the engine through a radiator, then forcing air through that radiator... the air forced through then heats up prior to entering the cabin.

If your water pump is weak and not circulating the coolant very well then your heat would be weak as well.

Just another idea.

First take a look at the thermostat; it's quick and cheap.

Touch upper and lower radiator hose when engine is hot and see if both hoses are hot. If not, thermostat is not opening up.

Guys, Guys, Guys,...I've done that. The upper and lower radiator hoses are very hot, and the water in the radiator is very hot coming out the Pet c*** so that means the Thermostate is open and working.

The water pump is good because I can see the water flowing fast in the radiator when I'm looking into the spout and reving the engine + their is no water leaking from the weep hole on bottom of water pump (sign of a bad seal in water the pump)

This one has me kinda frustrated!

one possible reason is "

you know when you turn the AC from red to blue (hot to cold) well that knob has a cable that pulls open a flap when you turn it to cold, allowing air from outside in, when you turn it to red (hot), it closes that flap and only allows air from the heater core, you door may be slightly open.

the door is located in your center council, directly behind your radio,

ok, if you pull your radio out and look under the AC, you can see a small clear tube that has a cable in it.move the knob from red to blue and youll see what im talkin about, the problem could be anything from the tub hanging loose, not allowing proper tension in the cable, or something along that line.

follow the cable to see where the box is, IIRC you have to take the glove box off and remove the boxes that lead to it to expose the "hot cold chamber" <-- not the actual name ..

after you get to the chamber, move you knob from red to blue and check to see if the door opens all the way, and closes all the way, if not, theres your problem, if it does ... well then at least you know it wasnt that ..
