Lately it has been below zero WAY below zero about -17°F when I start my car it will warm up and the blue light will go off. I get up to a decent speed and the heat out of the vent is fine. When i stop and the car idles or am moving slowly in traffic the air coming out of the vent is cooler. It's pretty annoying!

Could this be due to the COLD! or a actual problem???

Sounds like it's due to the cold for me.

It's just like when you're driving with your ac on,when you come to a stop...it's not as cold as if you were driving.

As for the heater, you're not making as much heat while idling than when driving.

This is very common for those cars which don't have the automatic temp control

Funny you mentioned that because it's like - 35 here and we (me and a student) will come to a light and it feels like someone opened a window like a cold draft. I was thinking I was being haunted! Thanks, it's just not me!

Thanks I thought it was a thermostat issue or thats what some one told me. Thanks I'm glad I'm not the only one also having this problem. It makes sense to its freakin cold -19°F is pretty hard on a car. Not to mention I'm thankful my Versa turned over this morning, about 1/4 of my senior class couldn't be at school on time because there cars wouldn't turn over

GOOD OLD VERSA NEVER LETS ME DOWN!

You should try a hybrid - guess where any heats coming from when it's running on electric...

OMG!! that was my problem. the dealer told me i was crazy and said they fixed it. 4 times. then they finally put an entire new heater in the car and it has been fine ever since. what a nightmare that was. the car was at the dealer 5 weeks of the first 8 i owned it. i did extensive research. contact me offline at [email protected] (only spell it correctly) if you want the info. maybe i can save you some trouble.

(did you buy your car in march of last year? so did i. maybe they were manufactured around the same time and there were a bunch of bad heaters in the batch in mexico? just a weird thought.)

"It makes sense to its freakin cold -19°F is pretty hard on a car."

You guys bitsching at -19 F??? LOL

We got -40 degrees Celsius last night. That is exactly -40 F for you US guys.

I had no heater problem with the V. One hour trip last night at -40 or so and it blew hot air all the way.

The only problems were the following though... engine not starting,CVT trans doing distrubing/horrifiying sound and entering the car was some kind of challenge.

I wonder why you guys in the US have heater problems??? Is there a different version of the Versa, one for the US and one Canada?
