Are you sure your core is not warm and your mix door failed?"

How do i check to see if thats whats wrong? I know when i press the mode button, all the different modes work, such as- feet, defrost,head,feet and defrost, etc, you can feel it blow out of the areas itssupposed to and you can hear the doors or whatever under the dasharea open and close. thanks for your input brian

Well, if that is true, then you have to discover why coolant is not getting to your heater core. Presume your fan is working correctly as you feel air flow at the various apertures?

your heater will still work, even if you have the heater hoses crossed. i would double check the thermostat, maybe it's in backwards.

Dont confuse air DIRECTION doors {defrost,face,feet,etc} with the heater control mix door which directs air through the heater core before it reaches the air DIRECTION doors.Sounds like your heater control mix door is stuck closed, and air is never traveling thru heater core before it reaches the vents{common on 94-96q as the door position lever is plastic and breaks quite easily}

Search for posts on repair---it involves alot of dash assembly to get to it.Someone on here has posted a fix with pictures accessing it by removing the radio and climate control display and getting to it that way.

If the door isn't busted the core could have a plug in it. To unplug the core you can take a couple rags and GENTLY use air pressure to relieve the plug, but I would definitly start with the door since that's the simplest solution.

94-96 used a plastic rod to connect the servo motor to the mix door, 90-93 used a metal rod that was less prone to break- however the rod or fasteners or servo motor itself could still prevent the hear mix door from operating on the 90-93 if worn out. I would study service manual to become familiar with what the mix door looks like and its location, then dis-assemble part of dash to visually confrm the heat mix door moves when changing set temp control from cold to hot- go from there depending on your findings
