I road race a J30, I had the heater hoses connected back to each other with no issues. Currently the engine is out I am deleting all the EGR and throttle body coolant tubes, my question , can I block off all coolant from the back of the right head where it went out to the heater and also block the return line under the intake with no issues?

What do you guys do on full track cars?

I can't imagine it would cause any issues as far as cooling. The heater core has a valve to stop flow when heat is not required. But, I would imagine purging air that can get trapped may be a problem.

I was not sure, the J30 is plumbed a little differently, the heater on a J has coolant flow at all times, I have no z experience so I did not realize your setup closed off flow.
On a positive note the J has a high hood line(tall radiator), air has never been a issue.

Anyone else with input before I install block off plates on the pipes?

Any super simple power/reliability mods for my z32 engine when I have the top plenum off?
