I've recently moved to a very cold area of the country. I purchased a coolent heater for my 94 Hardbody KA24E engine. KAT 1000w Circulating Heater.

I need to cut my lower radiator hose and install a Tee fitting to supply the heater with coolent.

The top of the heater where the hot coolent comes out - is supposed to be connected to one of my heater hoses. Obviously, there's an IN hose and an OUT hose on the heater core. But I don't know the path the water normally takes as it circulates through the engine. If I pick the wrong hose to splice into - I'm probably going to short circuit and not get the best heating out of this heater that I bought.

I need to splice into the IN hose on the heater core. That way the hot water leaving the heater core will flow out into my cylinder head and then into the block - finally back to the radiator. Full circulation.

Can anyone tell me which heater line I should cut?

Is this of any help?

I can't find anything else in the FSM regarding heater core hoses, unfortunately. I checked both LC & HA sections.

This is unrelated, but have you checked behind the blower motor resistor for any debris build up? If a significant amount of debris collects, it becomes a fire hazard due to the blower motor resistor generating large amounts of heat. All you need to do is unscrew 2 screws for the blower motor resistor behind the glove box and vacuum the area.

the bottom hose is the inlet, the top outlet.
