So I came around a turn, and all the sudden coolant poor's all over my floor. So I take a look, it is coming from the air ducts. I am sure it has to do with the heater core (not to mention its been gargling lately)

So I am thinking about doing a bypass on the heater core. Does anyone have a write up on this?
Also, if I do NOT turn my heat on will coolant still run through the heater core?

Thanks

Its pretty straight forward. I just did mine last weekend since my heater core too started leaking. I used this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290639160638?ss ... 1439.l2649) and just used the whole hose. You need 3/4" coolant/heater hose. Mine comes all the way in front of my battery but flows better then kinking it. Just beware its a squeeze to get the hoses off or on, so take your time.

Heres a link of what it look like heater-core-bypass-t508398.html#p5793604 (not my car)

Yes coolant will always run through the core even if the heat is switched off.

Nope, nothing really. I removed the battery the first time but you really don't have to.

Also as you know coolant will come out so make sure the car is cold. Just thought id add that.
