So the hose that connects from the thermostat housing to a place on the intake manifold has sprung a leak. I am currently working on replacing it but am having trouble getting the little clamp off of the intake manifold portion. My question is whether or not i could just bypass that entire part and run a hose straight back to the heater core. I don't think that metal piece it is connecting to on the intake manifold actually has anything to do with running water through the manifold i think it is just for routing but i could be wrong.

Thank you

Russell

Are you talking about the throttle body heater? Racers disconnect that. You'll have worse mileage in the cold, to a small degree. And Mr. Smog will want to see it hooked up.

Talking on the back of the intake mani? Those lines: one is feed and one is a return... I just cut my stock ones off. Then got new hose cut it to size and then used hose clamps....So much easier than factory set-up.... Cost me like $2-3

The one i am talking about is in the frong it comes from the thermostat housing. And then goes through a metal pipe that i believe is just flows water to the back and to the heater core and not actually into the manifold. So my question is if i can just bypass this. I will try tommorow if i can't get this clamp off after an hour or so.

Thank you
