heater core bypass?

Just wondering if there are any side effects from bypassing one's heater core??

if so what are they?? has anyone tried it? what size of hose did you use??

none, besides you wont have any heat or defrost capabilities...

I had to do it on my girls car x-mas eve, there was a coupling inline on one hose before it went into the firewal, so I removed it on one end removed the other hose from the core and connected them together. This removed the core and looped the line back...

If you want to do it at the fittings it should be 5/8" iirc.
