Hey guys,

Maybe you can help me on this one..A few weeks back, my 95 Maxima's heater core ruptured. Got it fixed for about $700. Now the car runs...

but, on start up it idles REALLY rough..and my main concern:The car doesn't go over 3500 rpms. It's like the speed limiter is kicking in...

Do you think the coolant caused a short on the ECU? That's what the mechanic said but wanted second opinions.

From my experience with "if it can happen, it will happen" with car troubles, I would say anything is possible. Is the ECU throwing any weird codes that you know of?

Have you tried posting this in the Nissan On-line Mechanic? You are sure to get some good ideas there as to what it could be.

3500rpm. its prob in maf failsafe. of course maf probs are not neccesarily inside the maf. could be the ecu still.

It was the ecu..

I bought another one and swapped it out.Car runs perfectly now..

It was a 95 GXE in mint condition - and I paid $1500 for it.Plus $85 for the ecu :ylsuper

$85? good deal bro. thats cheaper than getting a tech to troubleshoot it.
