Well you will stop the leak but you will no longer have a heat source to make your heater live up to its name. Not sure how cold NC is about now but that could suck only slightly less than a car that can't be driven at all. They will be two 3/4" hoses running into the firewall likely on the passenger side of the car, mine are on the other side. loosen the clamps and twist them gently to break the rust free and slide them off, if you just yank them they might break. Stick a short section of the right size metal tubing in between them and clamp it tight. Use steel, copper might flex and not seal well. Loop trick finished.
