I had the rear oxygen sensors replaced after scanning code PO138. After two weeks of excellent driving the service engine soon light came on after driving about three miles with the empty gas light. I filled the tank and the service engine light came on again. I checked the gas cap, drove 11 miles, and scanned . PO135, PO141, PO155, and PO161 registered. Do I take it to the mechanic, erase, what do I do? This is very expensive. 2001 I30t 74Kmiles. Seems to drive fine.

I would definately try erasing the codes and see if they come back. It is hard to imagine a simultaneous failure of three O2 sensors...

As you mentioned it sounds more like a circuit problem. The only other thing I can think of is a major engine issue that would foul the O2 sensors, but you said it's running fine. If resetting doesn't take care of it, you may want to get a dealer or Nissan specialist (independent) to give it a good consult scan to see if they can figure out what's going on...

It might also be worth your time to have your alternator and battery checked. If you're dealing with a low or irregular voltage situation - you can get all sorts of weird symptoms.

I know it's bad form to suggest other forums, but you will find a wealth of info at http://www.maxima.org too.

Welcome to NICO!
