Does anyone know how long the heated side rear view mirrors stay on when activated ? Normally this is preset with the built-in timer switch for 8 or 10 or 12 or 15 minutes.

They are standard here on just about any car you purchase. I need to go back 20 years anyways to remember the last car we purchased without heated mirrors.

Heated seats are now being installed on more and more vehicles also, now those are really great.

Which is why the US models don't have them.

Many states such as Maine, Vermont, N-H, upstate N-Y have the same weather as we do here, so does Minesota, the Dakota's, the Rockies area etc., I am convinced these people would love to have heated mirrors for the winter.

it should at least be available as an option if they are putting it on the Canadian models.

They shut off in 15 minutes according to the manual. My mirrors were all fogged up from the morning dew today and the heated mirrors came in handy to clean that up quickly.

Heck, even I'd like them. There's only a couple months where they'd be needed, but after having them on the Tucson, I really like em.

I'm just curious - where is the switch located? Maybe the american models are pre-wired and all we need to do is get the mirrors from Canada? Not like I would need them here in So Cal, but it would be nice for alot of people if it was at least possible.

They are connected together with the rear window defroster. They are all on the same switch.

well, there goes my theory then. Does that mean that your rear window defroster is also on the same timer then? That's kind of weird. I've never had a vehicle where the rear window defroster turned off after a certain number of minutes.
