Heated Seats

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi All: Question for you, particularly those up in the North that would have need for......Heated Seats. I've been using mine over the last several weeks and I don't notice ANY difference in the temp between Low or High setting. Had the dealer check it out and said it was working fine (And yes, it works, just seems like the same level of heating, Low v High). Do you notice a temp difference in either setting?

no there really isn't much of a difference. it's the same for all of the infiniti's that we've owned/experienced.

Leaving High on for a long time will make the seats a tad warmer, but it's at the point where you can't really notice it.

This reminds me of something I forgot when I posted to the "Things you wish your EX35 had" thread. My previous Audi A4 had a 1 to 5 dial for the heated seats control. That translated into a meaningful difference in heat level.

You don't notice the difference coz your body adjusts to it. Try feeling it with your hand and you'll notice the difference.

There is a difference, but it takes a little while for the hi setting to really heat all the way up. Also, I think you tend to notice the difference once the temps are colder, more like in the teens and colder.

I can sense a difference. High becomes uncomfortable for me after some point, and then I switch to low, which is fine. Maybe it is psychological?

The rotary dails are much better to dail in the heat setting you want. Have them on our current Audi and my previous Lexus RX; much better than a 2-position switch (Acura does a 2-position switch as well).

Note the EX37 in Europe has rotary dials right where our switches are -wonder if that is a part that can be swapped out??

My wife loved the heated seats on the Audi. She could set them up to boil. I prefer the simmer setting.

I wish the seats would get warmer than they do, the high setting is not as warm as I would like. Some of the GM cars and a VW that I used to own would get alot warmer to the point that it would almost burn your back. I am a little weird when it comes to heated seats though, in the spring and fall I will drive with the heated seats and the AC on at the same time. LOL
