Heated seats on the 1990-1993 Q45

I have been jealous of the 1994-1996 Q45's for having heated seats. And to add to that my sisters 2000 GMC Jimmy has heated seats and she does'nt rub it in my face but still I want to join the family.

So Heated seats are definitely possible on the 1990-1993 Q45, The only problems are:

Where to mount the heated seat switches?

When mounting them on the center console window controls piece the plastic would need to be reinforced or recreated with something else looking OEM. I could possibly use the 1994-1996 Q45 center console window controls piece because its a little thicker due to the wood.

incorporating the heated seat element into the OEM seat, I would need a car interior upholster for that.

I plan to use the OEM switches with a aftermarket heated element.

And this project is due to complete at the end of summer 2010.

But for now I want to let everyone know that this is most definitely possible.

Hi Paul:

I saw your thread and wanted to let you know I have a set of 4 Q45 heated seat panels, seat wiring harnesses and OE switches available that I removed from a 98 Q all in excellent workign condition. You can have the complete seat harness from both seats (driver and passenger) and you would only have to make a short harness to connect the switches to the seats. Let me know if you are interested and I can shoot you some photos and additional info.

Yours probably never came with TCS also because it was in a hot climate state. But if you still want to get a Q45 that does'nt have heated seats and want to add them to a 1994-1996 Q45 check this out: zerothread?id=251234.
