I've put 94' heated seats in my 92' Q, but I don't have the heated seat switches. Has anyone done this that can provide some guidance? Looks like the switches from 94& 95 Q45 and J30 would work. Are there other switch applications I should consider.

Thanks

See following thread as it pertains to J30 heated seat switch:

If you live in an area where there is a electronics surplus store or somewhere electricians buy their wares and "nerdy" kids get electronic stuff for their experiments you will likely be able to locate a new generic switch for your heated seat(s) for real cheap.

There is someone who has a 94 Q parting out..... Talk to him...

How do you compare the comfortableness of the 94 seats vs the older ones...?? (i may be going to switch to 92 seats in my 94...)

Not completely off topic.

Do the power seat switches fit the door panel?

Let me explain a little more. It's difficult to find good leather in the 1st gen Q's so I looked for a 94'. When I got them (about $100 bucks on ebay) the driver's seat cushion wasn't in top shape, but the passanger cushion was. I ended up taking the best of 3 seats. I now have a hybrid 92'/94' driver's seat. I have the heating elements, back leather and some of the pad from a 94'. The frame, some padding, and arm rest from the92', and the passanger side cushion leather from a 94. The net result is a 92' seat with heating element:cool: My issue now is I didn't get a seat switch when I got the seats.

The seat heater switches are located in the center console in the Q45. I'm not sure about the J30. I haven't looked at the schematic for the wiring (lost my FSM in the move),but I'm hoping it isn't too dificult.

Oh, and by the way, I still have some of the 94' seat electronics if someone is in need.

J30 seat switches are on the seat near where the other seat controls are located by the door. Same for the passenger seat: by the door.
