Hey all, just had one question, is driver side heated mirror slower than the passenger side when you turn the heater on?

11/5th some *** hole hit my car and run, my whole left side was all damaged, after i took my car back from body shop, this morning i found out my driver side heated mirror is slower than the passenger side a lot, is that normal or the body shop didn't do a good job?

They should both heat at the same rate.

My guess is the heater element is damaged or has become unglued from the back of the mirror.

I believe it is only for leather pckg. Looking forward for auto folding mirrors. Don't really care about heating them much but would be a nice option.

I think the heated mirrors turn on automatically when you use the defroster. I do have the leather package so I'm not sure what package it is included in. I haven't had the need to try mine out yet so I'll be curious to see how well they work.

Ya, I have leather too, just haven't had the need to use defrosters other than to clear some fog off the windows...do the heated mirrors turn on with the rear defroster switch or the defrost setting on the dial?

In the US, heated mirrors are only available as part of the leather pack.In Canada, heated mirrors are standard on all trim levels.

US vs. Canada model differences: zerothread/325256

CincyRoguer is correct, the heated mirrors activate when the rear defrost is turned ON. There is no separate button to turn them on or and indicator to tell you if they are working.

If you live anywhere with cold weather, heated mirrors are a big plus. They melt frost, ice, snow and clear fog in seconds.

Honestly, heated mirrors were never something I'd think I'd want, but now that I have them I love them.

Heated mirrors are nice. Ever try scraping 1/4" of ice off your mirror? It either cracks it, or it moves it all outta wack and you have to readjust it.

Exactly, that is the kind of options you say you don't need when you buy a car, but strangely, few years later when you change car you ask the seller why this option is not on the new car

Nice little things that simplify your everyday life.Did not use it yet but will probably during this week as the weather degrades around here.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to add the heated mirrors to a Rogue without them by either buying entirely new mirror assemblies, or new mirror 'panes'?Like, is the wiring already there, or would you have to go about figuring out a wiring solution for yourself?

You would likely have to add the wiring yourself. Not a big deal though if you are ok with electrons.

Alright thanks. If I do decide to go and be crazy and enter my Rogue in the Alcan 5000, it'll be one of the projects I'll have for it.

Sorry to bring a post back from the "dead" but if you have the heated mirrors, isn't there a logo on the mirrors? Has anyone figured out how these go on?

I have the leather package but I'm pretty sure no heated mirrors... Any help on this?

Unfortunately, there is no logo on the mirror to show you have heated mirrors like some other makes.

Quote »Has anyone figured out how these go on? [/quote]The heated mirrors are simply activated by the same button as the rear window defrost. Please read page 2-24 of your owners manual... it's described in detail.

In Canada, heated mirrors are standard on every Rogue. It's nice for Nissan Canada to think about us and our weather! The mirror defrosters are fantastic for removing stubborn frost and ice during the winter months.

BTW, the mirrors heat up only slightly. The only way to tell if they are working is if they are covered with frost or fogged up... and activating the heater clears them up.

I'm out in Webster--I've never seen your Rogue around.. I feel like I would've --I'm going to RIT so I go that way a lot. Is the Rogue your only vehicle? Do you work? I was gonna ask you another question not related to this post--is the email in your profile current?
