Dynamat is a sound deadener that you can line your whole car with to cut down on outside noise and reduce vibrations inside. And yes, this really helps your system sound better. You can get door kits, trunk kits, and just big sheets to cover the floor, roof, etc. It is fairly expensive though, so be ready to spend some money to do your whole car. I just got a trunk kit and another roll to do behind the rear seat where my subs were mounted and that really helped a lot.

There are cheaper alternatives, I think Summit has like a knockoff Dynamat, but Im not sure how good it is. I recommend it though, if you are building a good system it will be a smart investment.

dynamat works great, if you know which kits to buy. obviously you will need a trunk kit which will help a lot on vibrations and the overall sound. another thing you should look into is the liscense plate dynamat if you can hear your liscense plate vibrating when your subs hit.

Dynamat Xtreme is a great product. It is 4 times more effective than their Original product, it does not stink when installed, and it does not require heat to install. I usually add Dynaliner or Tac Mat to the install as well since they block a different frequency range than the Xtreme. With any of it, more=better. I have 100 lbs in my cobra. You can guesstimate how much you need buy figuring out the square footage of the area you want to cover. For example, a door might be 30"x 25" . 30x25=750 sq inches. 750/144(a square foot 12x12)=5.21 sq ft.Buy the 36sq ft bulk pack for the best price.
