So yeah...what is heat soakI was reading another post about intercoolers, and i know heatsoak is bad, and i know it occurs with the inefficiency of an intercooler. i also know it is basically when an intercooler gets to hot to cool the charged air....

But what happens once it occurs? My car sometimes becomes sluggish after long drives, and doesn't seem to spool as fast as regularly. This has been discussed by other members as well.I just had a revelation(wether right or wrong....) that it could be heat soak?I have a blitz LM intercooler, but it is behind my stock bumper cover and bumper support. What do you guys think? Am i experiening heat soak after long trips?

While you're rolling, heat soak should not be too much of an issue...almost no issue at all. You're intercooler should be getting plenty of air and operating pretty effieciently.

Now if you're driving and not boosting as much as normal, it could be a number of things. Chances are the ECU is pulling timing for something. EGT's getting hight maybe?

I don't have an EGT gauge, but i run rich, so if anything , i would have a lower EGT then usual. I will try routing more air to the intercooler and seeing if that helps. Its not terrible, it just feels like the car doesn't want to hit full bost as fast.
