I just recently purchased an 07 G35x. When I took it for a test drive, I noticed a smell that was similar to chlorine...my husband thought it was more of a musty smell, but I'm sticking with chlorine. I fell in love with the car and figured they would detail it before giving it to me and the smell would be gone. Needless to say, I can still smell it. I have been trying to do some research and I am getting mixed answers like exhaust, cat or leaking heater core. Any ideas?

Start with the easy stuff first. I'd start with changing the cabin air filter.
BTW, is their any staining in the floor? Maybe there was a spill that wasn't cleaned up properly.

couple years ago my Coupe sat covered in snow for several days. When I finally got it out on the road, smelled a very unusual smell....not good... Also, the air coming out of the vents seemed to be at less velocity. So, I checked the cabin filter which you could see from inside the engine compartment. Seems a mouse was making a NEST on the filter!!! So, I was smelling mouse poo and pee. :( Changed the filter and sprayed some freshener down there and was all better.
