Hmmm...what doyou charge for a custom brake cylinder shield, which would also shield the lines? I currently have some deflection wrap on the lines and wrapped around the cylinder, but I'd like to get a metal shield also.

Thanks

I got 2 differnt kinds of metal.Probably go with galvenized because it is thicker. Maybe $10 shipped maybe $15.I'll look up prices on Monday and see what would be best. Got to mess with my car and see how many ft is required.I'll have some pics up in a week. As soon as I get my kit installed I'll make some shields and Then you can decide.

What I'm thinkign now will cost a little more but be more effective. It would be to take 1 sheet of galv and put 2 sheets of aluminum around it and pop rivet it. I'll figure out prices on Monday. And will then figure out this week how much material is need to make shield for different parts.

yea.what size you want?I'll have the prices Monday. Then whatever shipping is.It only takes me 2 minutes to get it.Then I'll get greg to call ups.I'm sure I can find a box to put it in.I'm thinking the alum is maybe 1/16th. and galv is 1/8th...I can't remember....I'll update on monday. You don't have a local lumber yard do you?Or even home depot/lowes. My yard sells by the ft.But the big stores require you to buy 10ft sections. It's valley metal flashing......

I hate them bog boxes.I know they carry it down here but they charge too much and force you to buy too much. They don't care about the customer. You already turboed? I can get it Monday for you and you can play with it and make it fit yourself. I was going to make it custom fit so all you had to do is get some self tapping screw and bam your done.

On my single cam I am making a heat shield for my master cylinder and plug wires. You should really protect anything that could be damaged by the heat of the turbo.

or properly "trap" the orignal source of heat, aka mr. turbine.

Yea but that gives me more shiny under there and I can tell the honda guys that I chopped up my aluminum wing, Because the heat is so intense. Update. On my shields.I'll have my car turboed and I can premake the shields for you or can just give you a sheet of metal. Got it in galvanized and aluminum. Galv is twice the price. But thicker and probably goign to swap to it. Coems from 12'' up to 20'' and whatever ft you need.I really only want to deal with 20" that way you can modify it to your needs. Could get a turbine wrap or do this cheap mod instead for 1/8th the cost.

some pix would be awesome.

What would be cool is a "portable" shield" that can cover the entire turbo, i.e. like the stock heatshield. This way, we can "hide" our turbo's better from you know who... maybe...

I can make the shields easy.ust time consuming. And being I'll have the Iap kit it will only fit it correctly. However I can give you the metal if you can't find it.Bought 5ft of the alum.Think It'll be too thin but want to get an idea of what size I need.Because galv is twice the price.I could piece a kit together for like $15-25. Comes with like galv or alum or both and a drill bit and self tappers.Drill bit is 3.50 alone and 10 screws are $1 Then which ever metal you want.I say go with galv. I'm sure you got a drill bit so that saves you 3.50 self tappers mine as well get from if you don't want to go to the store...you'll burn more gas going to get them.I get my kit Thursday night. It'll be installed by Saturday morning. Then I'm going to the dyno.Hopefully....I'll do a write-up of my heat shield. So you can see what you want.If you get me some dimensions I'm sure I could make you a box that goes over your whole unit.I'd just leave some edges so you can make it fit properly and all you need to do is trim... You could completely cover your mani and turbo.Only thing needed would be some pop rivets.Tryign to fab some stuff for this one so I can have some ideas before I get into my VG install.
