In looking at this pic, one thing came to mind...

That turbo is going to cook the brake master cylinder and fluids, as well as the power steering too. What have yall done to prevent this or is this just something that hasnt been looked at yet. Seeing as how i live in TX, a turbo under these vital parts would not be a good idea. This looks like its in need of a turbo blanket like this...[imghttp://boostlogic.q-east.net/noindex/pics/BLT4blanket.jpg[/img]

has anyone encountered problems running turbos on this side with over heating these fluids, and specifically road racing/drifting, or any other kind of activitiy which generates lots of exhaust heat.

That doesn't look like a stock turbo to me, and I don't believe that is where the stock on is located. Not sure on if there are any issues on the location of the stock one with heat to nearby items though.

the RB26 and SR20 have the turbos, stock or aftermarket on that side. The down pipe, and wastegate are right there near those fluids. Temps can reach ~1000 degrees back there some times. :(

Thats Karl's RB26, and no thats not a stock turbo, its a T66 i believe...i'll bring it too his attention and maybe he'll come on and give an explanation for it. He's probaly already taken care of it, since thats an older pic.

Very nice turbo blanket. I might have to look into one of those babies. Right now, the header/downpipe is all ceramic coated and thermal wrapped. All the reservoirs, fender apron, and underside of the CF hood is wrapped with that reflective thermal barrier stuff. I'm hoping it'll do just fine but if everything goes to crap, I'll get one of those blankets.
