Hey guy,s just joined and wanted to know if anyone else was havving accleration problems, when i start out from the light, my car jumps but blogs immedietly, then it will suddenly get power and loose it while im accelerating. Ive replaced fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, wires, and recently done an oil change with mobil 1 15w 40. My timing chain is causing a little bit of noise and a nissan mechanic suggested the olie, vrs, 3300 in parts and labor.

Heat logging? what does that have to do with anything? and what is heat logging?olie? vrs? what are those?

You need to be a little more clear, we cant see your car, or hear the noises so you have to describe them better.

If the timing chain is really a problem, then change it out, either you can do it yourself or pay someone to do it. Try doing a compression check, maybe even a leak down check.

sorry about the typing, it was three in the morning. As for heat logging, i was told that when a engine gets hot, it can start loosing power. thats how heat logging was explained. Also he mechanic suggested switching to 15w40 oil instead of trying to pay for 3000 for parts and labor changing out my timming chain and all the guids. As for the noise problem, it sounds like the chain is rubbing something. Also when i got my car someone had cut off the stock exhaust and replaced it will a weapon R-2 muffler and i was wondering if that would cause a loss in tourque

I have a feeling that changing oil viscosity is not going to fix your problem. Do a compression check. Also, pull off the valve cover and look at the timing chain to see if anything looks messed up, if it is making a rubbing sound, then there is probably something wrong.
