I love my red Rogue but the black interior gets hot in the Kansas summer. The dash above the speedometer is not textured abd gets so hot that it radiates heat right at me when I get back in the car. The aur conditioner doesn't even help. I realize I need to get a sunshade for the windshield, but I was wondering if anyone knew of some way to keep it cooler in general, some product to put on it or something to cover it with. Thanks!!

Here is one idea:

One of members, MisterGib has a dash cover for his Rogue. It's a neat accessory and could cut down on the heat:

I used to work in KC at Hallmark Cards many moons ago, I definitelyam familiar with your heat....

Anyway, the dash cover I have is absolutely the best quality, but it alsocosts more than the others as it is precision made and precision cut fromsedona perforated leather. I highly recommend it...

I golf alot so to hold down the heat in my cars including my Rogue, thisdoes the trick.....here's the link:

Good luck!

Thanks for the photo too. Interesting. I wonder if my Navigator on it's navmat would slip?

I just called the guy to come put on the body side moldings for $175. I see you have those. I can't believe the dealer doesn't offer them.

$70 isn't terrible I guess. The sunshade is $40. Would I need both?

Anyone else with ideas?

My Garmin doesn't budge or vibrate with bumps at all....industrial strength velcro holds it securely to the dash cover.

I have always used the dash cover in combination with the side windowdeflectors, I do not use the sunshades with them too, but you could. Theproblem right now is that nobody is producing the side window deflectorsfor our Rogues until around August.

As far as the $70 goes....once you buy one of the sedona suede covers, you'll understand....they are definitely worth the extra $30, but thatsyour call.

Is that a black or charcoal dash cover?

its black, just not black-black...they sell charcoal, but this is definitely their black...if you seen it in real life, it looks reallygood....doesn't look odd at all.

What is a side window deflector? I see you have tinting too.

I like the navmat so I can take the navigator out of view and so I can move it car to car if someone needs to borrow it. It should sit up on the cover okay I think. It is pretty well weighted.

Remember, mine is mounted with velcro....I just pull and separate thetwo pieces of velcro and mine is out and now portable just like yours would be. You could use your navmat in one, velcro in the other. It isno disadvantage to mount it with the velcro like mine. In fact, right now,for security reasons, mine is tucked away in the center console.

You have to understand how "anal" (particular) I am, I didn't want thatnavmat sitting on my dash or the windshield mount...just looks tacky tome, but thats me....its your car. This is also why I don't keep mine plugged in to the power cord, I really hate visible wires, so I run it off its internalbattery and just charge it when needed.....different strokes for differentfolks.

The internal battery on mine doesn't seem to last too long. I like that when it is on the dash I can also see where I am going. The cord runs neatly down and to the plug, much nicer than on my MDX. I bought a sunshade to get by today, didn't fit, drat. Gotta return and get a bigger one.

...please don't tell me that you never know where you are going, unlessyou use it for the "traffic updates"?? ...or, you must be using the Garminjust for fun?...cause my internal battery lasts a really long time, I only useit when I don't know where I'm going, in the case of a new addressdestination or something, (mine is not traffic update capable).. No reasonfor me to use it for everyday driving. Same thing for my Acura which hasthe factory nav system in it, both are used/needed maybe 10% of thetime.....to each his/her own....have fun!

I turn it off sometimes, sometimes just lazy since it turns itself on when the engines starts and I just let it show the scenery. It is also helpful in finding the nearest Shell station since my cc get a 5% rebate. Of course now with my Rogue, I won't be needing that as often.
