It seems like nearly everytime I eat, I get bad heart burn and a lot of gas (burping only). Especially if I eat something spicy. I used to really enjoy spicy foods, but I can't anymore cause I know I'm going to be up all night with a burning chest.WTF is up?I never had this problem until recently, but its been recurring.I've been through a lot of **** recently, maybe its a ****ing ulcer.

Eat small frequent meals to avoid overeating. A distended stomach increases pressure making reflux more likely. Drink Fluids between meals not with them. Combining food and liquids increases the likelihood of reflux Limit citrus fruits and juices, tomato products, chili powder and pepper, which can irritate the esophagus. Give yourself at least three hours after eating before you lie down to allow acid production to subside and the stomach to empty. (Avoid milk at bedtime- this increases acid production) Avoid peppermint, chocolate, coffee (decaf too), alcohol, fried and fatty foods- they relax the valve and allow reflux. Chew gum to stimulate saliva production- this neutralizes stomach acid. Lose weight is you are overweight. Avoid tight fitting clothes that press on the abdomen.

wow...I can't even drink with meals anymore... I hate swallowing food dry.

sheeesh hope it all goes okie...:rolleyes

maybe cut down on spicy stuff. ^_^ you might be eating food that makes the stomach secrete too much acid...or eating too much in general. if those are not the cases...maybe it is your after activities that are resulting in heartburn...like u cannot sit around on your butt...hehe or exercise right away...since u used to eat spicy food all the time....i'm sure it is not the food but the gas (burping) totally natural...lol i am Thai n we eat PLENTY of spicy food! hehe damn now i am gettin hungry =)

Best of luck n take Kare~ sps14mc

I used to be able to eat bananas fine, but all of a sudden about 6 months ago; whenever I eat them I get the worst, most close-to-death pain in my stomach... Its bullcrap. The pain is so bad I can't even move, I have to lay down someplace in the fetal position for about 45 mins untill it lessens. Theres my stomach-altering story for the evening.Goodnight!-Kev

i used to get heart burn every day-10-15 times a day-i would wake up at night 4-6 times and would pop 20-30 tums a day on top of zantac-because of this both of my top back teeth were eaten away by the acid and during an indoscopy they found pre-cancerous cells with a biopsy-i had a procedure called a lap nissen(SP) basically what they did was create an artificial sphyncter in my esogaphus to keep the acid in my stomach-i had that procedure about 3 years ago and have had no heartburn since-

start by asking your doctor for an indoscopy to determine the severaty of your problem and go from there

good luck!!
