FTLOG please dont lift engines by the manifolds. use hard bolts through chains.

we only lifted the engine with the exhaust manifold. we wraped the chain around the motor mount on the intake manifold side. this is how we have been lifting engines for years. what is the big deal?

don't mean to highjack this thread but aren't the rb25 ecu's chipable? or is chiping it different from ROM tuned?

Love the Grabber Green...I'm trying to decide what I want to do with my colors...I'm tired of having a black car. I want something bright and flashy, and I'm thinking like a neon orange...but the Grabber Green would be pretty sweet on the black interior.

Save yourself some time and headache if you ever have to do it again... drop the car onto the motor and lift it up into the body

You'd be surprised... engine hoist works well too (what I've used for all of mine with a dolly for the motor to slide out)

Are you bumping about this????

What I did was the two open bolt holes in the back on the head (exhaust side) I drilled a piece of steel and bolted it on and bolted a chain onto that. I did the same thing for the two holes in the front on the Intake side too.

Broken studs in the head SUCK unless you like drilling and Heli-coiling heads. lolThose studs are not meant to hold the weight of a motor and transmission. They are there for the sole purpose of holding the manifolds on.

I know people have done it for years and never have a problem, but that day when you do have a problem.Your gonna say "Damn I should of listened to those Nico guys" lol

Bump!!

Not to mention the fact that the OEM exhaust manifold studs snap like toothpicks anyways. The first time I removed my exhaust manifold, I had 3 broken studs and the motor didn't even have 40,000 miles on it.

wtf 30 degrees. pshh I did most winter on my gs500from clarksville to nashville. Like 50 minutes at 5:00 AM just throw on a thick icon jacket, and ride faster. but yeah it sucks.
