I have the definititive answer. I just spent the day digging through rear subframes. I compared J30, Q45 (both G50 and Y33), G35 and 350z.
The G35/350Z rears that I saw were R200 diffs. Just like the others. They WERE NOT R230 diffs like the 300zx turbo.
They DO have the 6-bolt flange like G50 Q45s, rather than the 5-bolt flange of the other infinitis and NA Z32. These are the evenly spaced 6-bolt flange, not the "3 pairs of two" flange used on 240sx and some others. BUT, they have ABS rings on both flanges, so you would have to use them on a car with TCS or use TCS axles.
The cast iron R200 hogshead is the same in all these cars (Q45, G30, J30, 350Z) so the front diff mount is the same. The input flange appears to be the same as the G50 also but I wasn't able to check if they were the same.
The G35/350z diff cover has one mounting stud versus two for the rest of the cars. The location of the one mount is the same as the right side one of the double mount on the rest of the cars (weird).
Nothing about the suspension geometry, subframe, strut mounts or anything else is similar to the early RWD Nissans. In case you've never seen one, it's made of hydraulically formed aluminum sheet with aluminum control arms and is just beautiful. It's a shame it won't bolt into any of the earlier cars.
