i dont do a lot of postin in general, but everyone needs to know this. the guy who works in the stall next to me just got back from titan/armada new model training at nissan tech school. i did not get to go because i am the only state inspector on my team right now so i gots to be there. he said that the teacher was rambling about a bunch of cool stuff. i will list it:
1)new titan/armada v8 based on qr25de. block archetecture is very similar.2)very soon frontier, xterra, and pathfinder(regular) will go through changes to include a 4.0 liter vq engine.3)(drumrole)skyline is coming to america. not the way it is now, but the way it will be in japan very soon. we will unfortunately never get the gtr. at least not from nissan:)i know the g35 is technically a skyline like the one in japan, but another skyline is coming to japan and that is the one we will get over here. it will have a new engine based on the vq that will be turbocharged. i dont know the specifics, but it will definitely be a vq turbo. i think thats great as its way better than what we have now. oh, it will also be awd.
all of this info came from jim at the dc training center. he is a very good source and would not say it if it wasnt in the works. of course plans change though. he did say that the skyline would be a few years down the road.

s13chris question did your co worker mention anything about the (as customers are reffering to it)"engine recall" that was just announced on the news? The damn news is finishing up their very breif news casts about it with call your local dealer for info! We have had numorous calls about it and nissan hasent told us sh** about it so we are like duuuuuuh what recall. from what I gather from news reports its probably the cam and crank sensors that we have been having probs with oil entering them. but the strange thing is. Some news articals say its 1989 to 2003 and others say it is 1998 to 2003. I think the other artical about 1989 is a mis print in info they transpossed 98. It would make sense if it was 98 to 03 thought with those sensors. but it says its some 700,000 vehicles in US and 2.6 million world wide effecting 23 pr 25 models depending on which news cast you see or read. What do ya know about it?

yeah i did the dial update myself found nada. I am just very curious if the 89 date is correct what the hell it is we are going to be doing. we recieved a manditory tool yesterday . usually the paper work says what it is for. this one was just generalized??? no specifics.almost called tech line just to find out. might do that monday if i have time. if i do I'll let ya know.s13sr20chris wrote:not a darn thing bro. sounds like the one on the b15 cam and crank sensors to me just expanded or whatever. zero info from nissan. i even updated assist looking for the latest.

if I'm not mistaken, the artical I read said it would be AWD, but also NA instead of turbo. Thats why they were thinking of calling it the X35, X for AWD and 35 for the 3.5L thats in the G35. But they were going to up the power a lot. That was A while ago though, so it has probably changed a lot. I hope they don't change it much from the R34:(

i saw the tool package come in, but i have not looked at it. redicuous how the techs are the last to know. maybe its all crap. eh?

it will be turbo according to the guy i talked to. i remember that stuff about the x35. i cant remember where i read it, but i wanna say scc. i dont think it will be at all based on the r34. that platform is gone from nissan here and there. they still race em but that should disappear soon as well.
