Can I swap just the factory CD headunit for a the Bose 6 CD changer in my 2007 Coupe?Wondering if the Bose unit will work with the rest of the non-Bose audio stuff in the car or do I need the rest of the Bose system also? (speakers/amps)

What's involved; harness, wiring changes or just swap - plug n play?

Many thanks!!

personally I would stay away from Bose period! Of course the factory Bose in my '93 was much older and less powerful than any system you would buy, but a Bose headunit should work with non-Bose speakers b/c the headunits nowadays are much more powerful and most do not require individual amplifiers as did in the old days..if swapping to another brand CD player (pioneer, kenwood, etc) should just be a matter of soldering (or whatever means of connecting) wires in the harness to the car.. like I said, the older Bose needed an adapter of some sort for the speakers but you would have to check up on newer ones.. hope this helps some

if you're trying to keep the stock stereo look, but want to get better sound out of your system then get the JL Audio cleansweep. it works with your stock everything(steering wheel controls, nav, etc...). You can expand to ampfliers/subs and other needs. pricey though, about 400(+)(-) a few $10
