i will look at an old one at work and try to describe to you which ones to solder. but it is farily easy to see which ones are bad if you look at the back of the speedo head itself you can see a circulir crack around a couple of the the solder mounds for the speedo leads into the circuit board. all you really need to do is heat the mounds with cracks up and the solder will flow together.

Thanks, i will try and see if i can notice any cracks, and i should be able to see these by looking up back behind the dash at the back of the speedometor/tach display above the steering column? and the circuit board should be where? sorry, i have never messed with this part of my car before!!!

no you will not be able to see it that way. you need to remove the speedo/tac head from the dash first and flip it over on a bench to inspect it..if i remeber correctly you also need to remove the case from the units to see the cicuit board. start by removing the coloum clam shell behind the steering wheel. then remove the bezel around the instrument area, then remove the cluster it self. you may or may not have to remove the lower cover to get the clam shell out.
